A MAC Protocol of Concurrent Scheduling Based on Spatial-Temporal Uncertainty for Underwater Sensor Networks

چکیده

Underwater sensor networks (UWSNs) are characterized by large energy consumption, limited power supply, low bit rate, and long propagation delay, as well spatial-temporal uncertainty, which present both challenges opportunities for media access control (MAC) protocol design. The time-division transmissions can effectively avoid collisions since different nodes transmit packets at period of time. Nevertheless, in UWSNs with order to collisions, the time is subject be enough, results poor channel utilization throughput. In view delay between a receiving node multiple sending UWSNs, there no collision node, simultaneously. Therefore, this paper, we propose MAC concurrent scheduling based on uncertainty called CSSTU-MAC (concurrent MAC) UWSNs. utilizes characteristics temporal-spatial achieve transmission avoidance. Simulation show that outperforms existing terms average consumption network

A MACA-based MAC protocol for Underwater Acoustic Sensor Networks

The medium access control (MAC) protocol design of underwater acoustic sensor networks (UWASNs) faces many challenges: the power limitation at nodes, long propagation delay, low data rates, etc. These challenges of underwater acoustic channels result in the unsuitable usage of terrestrial networks MAC protocol in UWASNs. Moreover, the long propagation delay causes a serious problem for the MAC ...

An Adaptive Slot TDMA MAC Protocol for Underwater Sensor Networks

In this study, we introduce a new media access control (MAC) protocol that adaptively changes time division multiple access (TDMA) frame size and slot duration in order to upgrade performance of underwater sensor networks. Throughput of underwater sensor networks is very low compared to a radio frequency (RF) network; the reason is a very long propagation delay and a very low bit rate. To solve...
